Chinese Bitcoin Exchange BTER Claims Theft of $1.75 Million in BTC

NEW YORK (InsideBitcoins) – Chinese bitcoin exchange BTER is reporting the theft of 7,170 BTC, worth about $1.75 million. The company is looking to ‘chase down’ those responsible and is offering a 720 BTC bounty while suspending all services. The BTER.com home page displays only this message.
’7170 BTC got stolen from our cold wallet in this transaction:
720 BTC bounty for chasing it back.
All wallets have been shut down and withdrawals of the unaffected coins will be arranged later.
