GetGems Dev Update : Stickers Coming Soon, Counterparty Issues & More

Late last night, a new GetGems developer update has been posted on the Bitcointalk forums. Even though the GetGems messenger application is still in beta, and available to Android users through the Google Play Store, there are still quite a few issues that need to ironed out. Some new features have also been developed, including unsolicited user support.
Own Cluster of Counterparty Nodes
GetGems Messenger relies on the Counterparty for a lot of things, including the creation of new wallet addresses and sending coins to other GetGems users. Unfortunately, this relying on third party servers also brings quite a few issues with it, as many GetGems users encountered issues when accessing their GetGems wallets or checking wallet balances.
Counterparty developers regularly updated their servers and APIs, which is a good thing. However, not all of these changes and updates are backwards compatible, making the task of relying on their services rather tedious. In the case of GetGems messenger, this can lead to some of the app’s major functions not being available until a fix has been implemented.
