AFTER TOR PARTNERSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT, MOZILLA CRITICIZED FOR AD TRACKER UPGRADE

NEW YORK (InsideBitcoins) – For many advocates of free software and online privacy, Mozilla seems like a brand that can be trusted. While Google, Facebook, and other tech companies have always been interested in collecting as much information about their users as possible, one of Mozilla’s main areas of focus is protecting every individual’s security and privacy on the Internet. The principles behind the Mozilla community are one of the core reasons that the Tor Project has used Mozilla Firefox as its browser of choice for the Tor Browser Bundle over the years. Tor is free software and an open network that protects users’ privacy.
Although an official partnership between the Tor Project and Mozilla was recently announced, there have also been some concerns in regards to a new Firefox ‘feature’ that involves tracking users for the purposes of targeted advertising.
